It has been a fantastic school year. The students have grown so much since the first day of school back in August. I am so proud of each and everyone of them. They have worked so hard to get to where they are and they are so very excited to move on to 4th grade. I know that they will miss third grade and I will really miss them. We have become such a great family this year. I wish them all the very best and hope everyone has a fantastic summer!!

Mrs. Kramer was kind enough to climb on to the roof of the gymnasium and toss all of the students Egg Drop projects one by one on to the ground. The entire third grade really enjoyed watching each one of the eggs soar in the the air. It was fun to see all of the creativity each student put in to their project. Great job!!!!

STEM Challenge
The students were each given 2 pieces of construction paper, a ruler, scissors and 12 inches of masking tape. Who could create the longest paper chain?? Then the students had to explain how they worked together to create their chain. Also, they had to determine if they would have changed anything given the chance to do it again.

PARCC Testing is finally over! The students worked SO hard to prepare for the state test. They practiced every day in class. After the first day they were extremely relieved and said it was better than they expected. They were very confident and put their best effort in to each test.
After the testing each day we did something fun to give everyone a break. Here is one of our team building activities. We did this at the beginning of the school year, but the student enjoyed it so much they wanted to do it again. The activity was to see who could build the tallest display using spaghetti and marshmallows.

Wizard of Oz
Our entire class went to see the daytime performance of the Wizard of Oz play at Emge School. It was exciting to see several of our classmates in the play. Many students from Ellis Elementary played the Munchkins in the play. I returned to see the evening performance to see the Munchkins in costume. Many of my former students were also in the play, including Dorothy, the Wizard and the Cowardly Lion!!

Lunch with someone Grand
The students enjoyed inviting their parents and grandparents to school to have lunch with them on March 15th. Each grade level had a special day this week to share their lunch with some of their family. Then they invited their family to shop at the school book fair with them. The students LOVED having their family at school on this day. I tried to get pictures of all of the students with their families, but apologize if I missed anyone. I was so happy to see such a fantastic turnout.

Then they each created their own memory book to keep. In the first set of pictures the students were viewing the partial eclipse right before lunch. After lunch we all went back outside to get a view of the total eclipse. The pictures show the students while viewing the total solar eclipse. It was a day to remember forever!!
